  • Timeout from Peregrine and Hope on Fat Tuesday

Greetings all, the Peregrine Panel is still a happening thing, in fact, about to announce yet another enabling  partnership if all goes well in the next couple days.  The next bit should put us in the place of conducting business. I wanted to take a break and talk about something else today.  It has to do with hope and being positive in spite of the economic turmoil we are in.  Last night I was invited to attend a Mardi Gras Ball for the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago.  I was surprised, delighted really, that it was a full house.   My hats are off to USG, Wells Fargo, Tickmaster, National City, and Albert & Suzanne Friedman for sticking to their

  • New Partnership: BrightIdea.com & The Peregrine Panel

I’m happy to make public that The Peregrine Panel (TPP) and BrightIdea.com have agreed to a close partnership. BrightIdea.com is a premier software vendor in the innovation space, and a visionary thought leader. A who’s who list of customers, like Cisco, are validating their vision. CEO Matthew Greeley was recently featured in a Forbes video network piece. He succinctly states the business case for idea management systems in the piece. BrightIdea.com has a wonderful system for “Idea Management.” It could easily be termed Innovation Management, — because that is what it enables. The system will form one of the foundational technology pieces for TPP. We’ll be using their WebStorm product first for collecting ideas from our diverse and growing global

  • Participating in Social Media Boom: Consumer-Ideator Panel Recruitment

If you don’t care about the new logo skip this paragraph! There are times in the innovation process when you have to simply make a decision. It’s appropriate to explore all options but at the end of the day I had to crank out a logo, and without paying some designer an arm and a leg to do it.  What you see here is the result of an iterative process.  I was uncomfortable with a purely symbolic logo, although the bird in flight could be used that way. So, I went with a type-based logo meant to convey a sense of speed and a modern attitude.  Does it?  I am leaving the door open for a simpler logo by using

  • Idea for Peregrine: Emergency Customer Service Communications

Silver Lining Department: I woke up this morning (London time) and found my web page and blog down.  The hosting service I’ve used without problems for over 8 years, well, let’s just say they blew it. At about 4:30 EST my traditional website and newish blog are back online, that’s the good news. The bad news is at almost 5:00 EST there are no graphics on my blog. Since my last post depended entirely on the graphics of logo’s I’m prototyping, it is now rendered meaningless. My apologies!  I won’t be able to restore the graphics until tomorrow; I’m giving my hosting service a chance to fix the problem. If they don’t, I will.  I’m not sure I have the

  • Alternate Logo Prototypes for Peregrine

It’s been interesting getting feedback on the logo design I posted recently. Thank you for the good suggestions and even the prototypes people sent, everyone has been very helpful. I asked for comments and received quite a few. Just interesting to note that comments to most people means critique and analysis. Comments could also include things like impressions, and, what’s good about it. At any rate, I’m going to post several images below and I’m looking for more comments on which of the following holds the most promise. These are not finished or polished designs, more shapes and prototypes.  So please, kindly, let me know. The top one let’s call “water” the middle let’s call it “flight” and the last (the

  • Peregrine Panel Testing Logo…Comments Please

  • Peregrine Partners In The Wings

I hope to announce in the next week the first major partner for Peregrine.  It would answer the need for Idea Management systems that would back up the panel.  It would be the “data entry” piece and also the repository for client data.  It’s an essential to have this in place for beginning pilot programs with early customers and “friendlies.”  Stay tuned.

  • Peregrine Panel Seeking Persistent Partners

A shorter post here.  In the effort to be transparent with regard to the new business start up The Pergrine Panel, a social media service for market research and ideation, want to let it be known that TPP is seeking various partners. Here’s the wish list: A partner for Idea Management – we need a system to track ideas and data with regard to our projects. Quantitative analysis – a likely follow up to our projects will be more rigorous quantitative surveys, so we’re looking for an established vendor in this market who also wants to work “lightning fast”. Traditional Qualitative.  TPP services are not meant to replace traditional qualitative in the research process, but to augment it.  TPP projects

  • The Next Big Social Media Service, Peregrine

I’m running off to Birmingham this morning for two days of research. One must pay the rent even while starting up the next big social media service! I wanted to post a “quickie” in response to some of the comments on my last blog about attributes of Peregrine Panelists. For those newcomers to the Peregrine concept/newco, read previous blogs here, but in a nutshell, Peregrine is an emerging social media consumer research panel. Original panelists will share ownership in the company (1000 people share 10%). Panelists will help companies research their products, act as a sounding board, and will provide ideas. One question that’s come up is simply “what’s expected?” The honest answer is, I’m not sure entirely. I could

  • Recruiting "Peregrine Panel" of 1,000 Consumer/Owners

As I define Peregrine, on the fly, with the help of my initial 68 panelists, the next most pressing issue is upon me. Upon us. That issue is, if we could wave a magic wand, what kind of panelists would we recruit for the “global panel” I’m organizing? Who are the best people for the 1,000 strong, owner/consumer panelists in the Twitter Chorus? Given the Peregrine quest to do lightning fast market research and provide organizations with ideas at blazing speed, here is a list of attributes I think we need most in panel/owner/participants — and please chime in! Responsive – When a question gets put on the table we need to react quickly with perspectives, responses, ideas, and ultimately
